AV Network Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AV Network Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis, hybrid role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing converged networks. This role requires expertise in VLANs, wireless technology, and multicast networks.

3 days onsite per week on average (office based on the border between Co. Kildare and Co. Meath, easy commute from North Dublin). Our client owns multiple sites in the Dublin area, some travel required. Salary is highly depending on seniority and experience.

What will you be doing? (Responsibilities)

- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability

- Configure and manage VLANs to segment and secure network traffic

- Oversee and optimize wireless network deployments, ensuring robust coverage and performance

- Implement and manage multicast networks to support various applications, including IPTV and AVoIP

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and support audio-visual equipment within the network

- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operation

- Monitor network performance and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement

- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain accurate records

- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions

What do you need? (Requirements)

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

- Professional certifications: Cisco CCNA and CompTIA (Network+, Security+, or equivalent)

- Excellent understanding of converged networks and VLANs

- Good understanding of wireless technology, including Wi-Fi standards, design, and troubleshooting

- Experience with multicast networks, including implementation and management

- Familiarity with IPTV, Audio Video over IP (AVoIP), and audio-visual equipment integration is highly desirable

- Knowledge of cloud networking solutions, network management tools and monitoring systems
