Job Description
As the IT Capability & Skills Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the Technology function. Working closely with the Group Technology leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic workforce plan. This involves identifying the IT skills and capabilities required to align with the business objectives and future roadmap of Group Technology. Additionally, you will devise strategies to address these skill requirements and drive continuous improvement. A key aspect of your role will be leading the development and enhancement of the IT Career Path, collaborating with IT managers to evaluate skills and create development plans. You will also identify new learning opportunities and training initiatives to empower our team.
Your Team: Reporting to the Head of IT Demand Management, you will collaborate closely with Group Technology team leads, the HR Business Partner, and other relevant stakeholders across the Bank.
Your Responsibilities: In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and managing a central roadmap of IT talent, trends, and skill requirements based on future business needs.
- Leading the collection and reporting of relevant Management Information (MI) to assess the ongoing success and effectiveness of workforce planning and resource management within the function.
- Developing and managing IT resource capability-related initiatives and projects, such as process improvement, organizational design, technology innovation, and talent management.
- Managing, promoting, and evolving the IT Career Framework, supporting the design of new roles and skills using the BCS SFIA framework.
- Coordinating the Group Technologies Graduate Development program through collaboration with IT teams, HR, and third-level institutions.
- Developing and coordinating the induction process for new joiners.
Requirements:
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Technology domain.
- Strong workforce planning skills, including the ability to size and shape the workforce and derive actionable insights from workforce data.
- Experience in organizational design, change management, and talent management.
- Excellent facilitation, coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in data gathering, analysis, and presentation using advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of the roles and skills required to support a Digital technology function.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of personal resilience and problem-solving capabilities.
Desired:
- Experience working with the BCS SFIA skills platform.
- Experience in managing workforce-related projects/programs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Understanding of HR practices and processes.
- Technical literacy.
