Key Account Director – Ireland. ICT Managed Services

We are working with a leading IT solutions provider to recruit a highly experienced Key Account Director to join their dynamic commercial team in Ireland. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive key strategic relationships within the business sector, partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple industries. You will be responsible for steering strategic development efforts that deliver significant and long-term IT impacts for businesses, leveraging the company’s diverse portfolio of technology and business solutions.

About the Role: The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of the Managed Service Provider (MSP) landscape across both the public and private sectors, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You’ll have a proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships, coupled with excellent leadership and planning skills. In this role, you’ll guide and support Account Managers and Account Executives, driving a strategic, customer-focused approach to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key business clients, acting as the main point of contact to meet and exceed their needs.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic account plans that ensure client satisfaction and drive business growth, tailoring IT solutions to meet the unique goals of each business.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, technical support, and senior leadership, to align on strategies for managing and growing key accounts.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations and close contracts that optimize profitability while ensuring the delivery of top-quality Managed IT services tailored to business clients' needs.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to offer clients the best solutions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key account performance metrics, providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Budget Management: Manage account budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are effectively allocated to meet client needs.
  • Client Advocacy: Act as the voice of the client within the organization, ensuring their needs and feedback are communicated and addressed.
  • Project Oversight: Support the successful execution of IT projects, from initial scoping through to delivery, ensuring service excellence throughout.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle escalations and critical client requests, ensuring swift and effective resolutions to maintain high client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. Additional qualifications in business strategy, sales, or marketing are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in account management or business development, ideally within the IT Managed Services sector. Experience managing strategic business accounts and a strong understanding of commercial operations and market dynamics are crucial.
