Job Details –
Our client is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Security or IP routing and switching, along with a CCNP or Fortinet NSE 7 certification, to join a leading Systems Integrator providing IP services to enterprise clients across Ireland. This role involves taking full ownership of projects related to the design, implementation, and delivery of both core and customer-facing networks.
Key responsibilities include supporting enterprise organizations utilizing Cisco and Fortinet infrastructures, addressing escalations from junior team members, and collaborating with vendor partners for advanced troubleshooting and technical support. The position also involves secure remote access to customer infrastructures for troubleshooting network issues, leveraging tools such as Active Directory, SolarWinds, software deployment, monitoring and alerting systems, vulnerability assessments, backup and restore technologies, patch management, and RMM tools.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for all reported incidents.
- Liaise with manufacturer TAC support teams during customer incidents.
Required:
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience troubleshooting technical incidents in Cisco and / or Fortinet environments.
- Cisco ISE, Firepower, Wireless and DNAC experience
- Cisco Routing and Switching experience
- Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer experience
- Cisco CCNP and Fortinet NSE4 qualifications requirement.
- Previous experience delivering networking and security solutions to customers in Cisco and Fortinet environments
- Practical experience of common routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and ISIS
- Familiarity with MPLS technologies (both Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with customers/other departments and management
- Excellent MS Office skills
