Senior Data Center Technician

Job Details:  

Our client is looking for a Senior Data Center Technician with experience in networking hardware, rackmount servers, and the hosting industry. This full-time position is based on-site at our Hyperscale Data Center Campuses. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center hardware, as well as managing the physical infrastructure of the facility. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with deep knowledge of data center operations and hardware management.

Required:

  • Experience working in a data center environment with a focus on hardware and infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in setting up and maintaining enterprise-grade hardware from multiple manufacturers.
  • Ability to physically install and manage racks, shelves, power equipment, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, including installation and configuration.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Fortinet certification or related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with data center hardware, including servers, networking devices, and related infrastructure.
  • Enterprise Hardware Setup and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other enterprise-grade hardware from manufacturers like Dell, Cisco, Supermicro, and HP.
  • Physical Infrastructure Management: Install and manage racks, shelving, power strips, rails, and cabling within the data center. Ensure all installations are secure and meet industry standards.
  • Operating System Installation: Perform installations and configurations of various versions of Windows and Linux operating systems on data center servers.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment, configurations, and maintenance activities within the data center.
  • Security and Compliance: Follow established security protocols and ensure that all operations meet compliance and safety standards.
  • Fortinet Experience/Certification: Utilize Fortinet products in the data center environment. Fortinet certification or equivalent experience.
