Job Details –
Our client is seeking a dedicated System Engineer – Infrastructure to support and implement a global systems infrastructure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer to showcase both technical and organizational skills while working as part of a small team of engineers on the forefront of IoT technologies.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days on-site each week.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and supporting global IT infrastructure including VMWare, Operating Systems, storage, Backups, and Servers.
- Responsible for capacity management of compute and storage infrastructure.
- Communicating with both internal and external customers and vendors to ensure a resilient and scalable network infrastructure is provided.
- Conscious of security at all layers.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for all reported incidents.
- Liaise with manufacturer TAC support teams during customer incidents.
Required:
- 5 years’ experience working with VMware required.
- 5 years’ experience working with Linux and Windows Server operating systems required.
- 5 years' experience working with storage and critical backup solutions.
- Solid understanding of cloud network technologies and the ability to provide synergy between the traditional and IaaS architectures.
- Telecom experience preferred.
- Proven track record in working with small teams to aggressive timelines.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service.
- Ability to priorities work tasks.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work, able to work under pressure.
